The Scan Design Foundation (SDF) Fellowship Program, established at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in Fall 2010 through the generous contributions of Inger and Jens Bruun, aims to strengthen Danish-American relations. The program provides scholarship opportunities to environmentally-focused Danish and UW-Madison students while abroad with enriching activities during their time or upon their return to UW-Madison, respectively. The program cultivates fellowship between Danish and American students united by a mutual commitment to sustainable development, with a pronounced focus on environmental sustainability established in Fall 2023.

The program at UW–Madison supports students participating (in either direction) in any one of many exchanges that  UW-Madison has with Danish universities, including the University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen Business School, Denmark’s Technical University, and the University of Aarhus.

UW–Madison students on other programs in Demark (DIS, the International Internship Program, and independent research programs) are also eligible, as are Danish students coming to UW–Madison via the Visiting International Student Program.
